The Avon Hotel

We stayed at the Avon for 5 nights and have only just left. I found Chris to be a fantastic host who was more than happy to help in way he could. First night the bed was not too great so we had a discussion regarding it and he put a mattress topper on the bed for us. This lead to a vast improvement in my sleep from the first night. We were in room 5 which was satisfactory in my opinion considering the price we paid. Bathroom is lined with wet wall and there is a good power shower in there too. Plenty tea and coffee available and if you run out you can get extra no problem at all. We also went swimming one day but didn’t bring enough towels so I asked if it was not to much trouble could we have extra to take with us. Chris agreed it wasn’t a problem and provided us with some extra towels so we could go. His cleaning lady is also very nice to talk too and if you need any help from her just ask when you see her. Breakfast in the morning is a buffet breakfast. Fresh orange on the table with Chris serving tea, coffee and toast to your table. Various different cereals are also available and you can take as much as you want in cooked breakfast from the buffet. Certainly our experience contrary to some of the reviews of breakfast was very good. We found the food to be thoroughly cooked and still warm when selected. The sausages and bacon were very nice tasted with fried egg, hash browns, fried bread, baked beans and mushrooms. We will most definitely be back again next year and once we have our dates booked I’ll be giving Chris a call to sort our accommodation out.

Great cheap little place to stay. Very welcoming, great price,clean. Let me keep my large bag there,while I had the day to kill in Blackpool. Thanks again for that. Would use again.

I had a very good stay at the Avon, Room was clean, very comfy and had everything you needed, the breakfast was absolutely delicious all fresh ingredients and butchers sausages, very good value for money honestly you couldn't ask for more, I highly recommend

Most economical place I've stayed in. Truly amazing price for location and breakfast outstanding. Affectionately ran by Chris, with his genuine friendly nature, always ready for a chat and to assist if required. 'Cheap and cheerful' he describes his establishment and if you want a clean and comfortable room, with TV, quality tea and coffee makings, en suite, minutes walk from the main train station and attractions around and near the Tower, you don't need to look any further than The Avon.

Stayed as a group of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. No complaints at all. The owner was very friendly, the room was clean and the location was perfect. We would stay again.

Good location, within walking distance of the promenade. Nice and quiet. Breakfast was nice and good quality. Host was friendly and welcoming. It's not a luxury hotel, but the price reflects that. Overall, good value for money.
